Jeff Raderstrong
Marketing Strategist
Jeff is a writer and communications expert with over 10 years of experience leading strategy, brand creation and content development. Jeff has worked with dozens of individual leaders and authors whose backgrounds range from local community nonprofits to national philanthropies to international businesses. He helps these leaders bring their ideas into the world by guiding them through the first stages of brainstorming, creating a content plan, drafting and reviewing their book or other writings, and then finally supporting publication and marketing strategy.
In his role as Assistant Director of Living Cities, a collaboration of the world’s largest foundations and financial institutions, he worked closely with Living Cities’ leadership, staff and board to help them capture what they are learning, and then turned those learnings into actionable and digestible content. Major strategic communications projects include a community engagement e-course, the Cross-Sector Partnership Assessment, and the Data and Collective Impact blog series.
Before coming to Living Cities, he worked at Venture Philanthropy Partners (VPP), a venture philanthropy firm where he supported VPP’s communications activities, including the launch of Leap of Reason, a book on nonprofit outcomes management, and Capital Kids, the first report on the state of children and youth in the DC area. He also founded UnSectored, a community platform for re-thinking social change that published hundreds of posts from cross-sector experts, and co-founded the Social Entrepreneurs of Grinnell (SEG), which is now a functioning microfinance institution with an over $50,000 portfolio. He has a BA in Economics from Grinnell College and an MPA from George Washington University’s Trachtenberg School.
